De Krans Cape Pink, the perfect all rounder

What better way to enjoy the splendid South African summer sunsets than with a chilled glass of De Krans Cape Pink. Made in a unique style to cater for the needs of its consumer, this distinctive port is the perfect sun downer drink to sip and savour during the warmer spring and summer evenings. A fun and versatile port perfect for the festive season!

Launched in early 2008, the first of its kind, the De Krans Cape Pink is made from traditional port varieties Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Souzão, where the grapes were allowed only a few hours’ skin contact and the juice then cool-fermented for approximately five days before fortification with unmatured brandy spirit. The result is a port with a beautiful vibrant blush colour, rich ripe flavours of fresh red berries and a long, lingering aftertaste.

Packaged in an attractive frosted 375ml bottle, the De Krans Cape Pink is available at most outlets nationwide and retails for approximately R50, which is aimed at all port lovers, awakeing their senses to the wonderful freshness and flavour spectrum throughout the year. Perfect as a cocktail or aperitif this port allows you to experiment with its flavours. With the holiday season upon us your guests will be bowled over when you serve them a glass of bubbly topped with the Cape Pink. Delicious!

For the more adventurous try one of these cocktails:

Ginger Up

Pour De Krans Cape Pink in a highball glass filled with crushed ice, a shot of Gin, a dash of bitters and topped up with ginger beer. The perfect thirst quencher for summer!

Pink Sunset

Pour De Krans Cape Pink and chilled iced tea in equal amounts into a tall glass. Add sliced strawberries and crushed ice or ice cubes – a great sunset punch!

Such a versatile drink which can also be enjoyed on its own, chilled with crushed ice as a summer aperitif, served with nuts and olives. In the cooler months it is best enjoyed at room temperature with olives, nuts or any pâté of your choice. Freezing the grapes and using them as decorative ice cubes when serving the chilled Pink Port to your guests, has also become a popular talking point amongst its admirers.
