As one of South Africa’s leading port producers, De Krans Wines’commitment to producing quality products has yet again been acknowledged by the South African Wine & Cellar Classifications, which saw De Krans being recognized as one of the Top 10 Cape Port producers over the past 10 years (2012 – 2021). Two of De Krans’ wines were included on this prestigious, namely the Touriga Naçional and Tritonia Red. In addition, the Cape Vintage Reserve Port, which stood out as one of the most successful South African wines over a 10-year period, was recognised with a place in the Classification’s Top Wine SA Hall of Fame for 2022.  To be eligible

It is that time of the year again where you get the opportunity to pick your own fruit at De Krans Wines. Please save the following date: – Hanepoot grapes: 9 February – 27 February 2022, 08:00 - 16:00 (R9.50 per kilo) With fruit picking at De Krans being one of the most anticipated events on our calendar year, we were devastated following a recent hailstorm that caused widespread damage on De Krans and in the Calitzdorp area (the worst hailstorm since 1993). However, we can assure you that despite these challenges we remain positive and look forward to welcome you to share in this age-old tradition at De Krans. As

Win your weight in wine with Calitzdorp photo competition during the Calitzdorp Blossom Weekend How to Enter: Anyone is allowed to enter, no cost involved, except employees of any of the participating wineries in Calitzdorp, or their direct family. A maximum of 5 photos per person per entry, taken IN CALITZDORP during the BLOSSOM WEEKEND op 1 and 2 September, may be entered. 1 & 2 September 2018 Make your way to De Krans Wine Cellar in Calitzdorp for the annual Blossom Festival which takes place over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of September. This time of the year the fruit trees, in particular the apricot and peach trees, are in full bloom and it is truly a sight to behold. The Spring blossoms traditionally indicate the start of the season for the fruit and wine industries. Visitors to De Krans will be able to experience this beautiful sight for themselves as well as enjoy a few more exciting offerings during the weekend: Kickstart your Saturday with the Vineyard Fun Run.

Be sure to diarise the annual Blossom Festival (Bloeiselfees), which will take place on the 1st of September 2018 at De Krans. Bring your friends and family and celebrate the first day of spring.  Be ready to feast your eyes on the beautiful peach and apricot blossoms while participating in the photography competition. Other activities include playing boules, a market day on the Saturday, as well as a fun walk/run.  Be sure to also use the opportunity to taste our wines and port-style wines, or have a lovely breakfast or lunch at the bistro.
