De Krans Bistro and Deli
The De Krans Bistro and Deli has had a fabulous season with many local and international visitors. In March, the Bistro and Deli excelled at the annual Klein Karoo Gourmand Awards (Smulpaap-toekennings), scooping the 2018 Gourmand Destination Award (Farm Stall Eatery Category). The criteria for this award are consistent good quality food, a great atmosphere and fantastic service.
Chef and Bistro manager, Shannon Botes, was in attendance to receive the award on behalf of his team. The De Krans Bistro and Deli was also awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and is still the number one destination in Calitzdorp on TripAdvisor.
Our long table dinners that we’ve had over summer (following the popular long table lunches in winter), proved to be very successful, with our chef, Shannon, pulling out all the stops to create beautiful meals, paired with De Krans wines. Guests were joined by either MD Boets Nel or winemaker Louis van der Riet at these dinners and lunches. What better way than to spend a day or evening dining under the vines, enjoying great food and wine and embracing the charms of small town living.
We will continue with the long table lunches from May until September, changing over to long table dinners from October to December. Space is limited, so please book ahead to secure your seat. The program is as follows*:
