De Krans Wines has won more than 700 medals and awards (including multiple Veritas and Michelangelo double gold and gold awards) in the past 30 years and was crowned Champion Private Wine Cellar in the Klein Karoo region 6 times in the last 7 years. De Krans Cape Vintage Reserve is widely regarded as one of the best port-style wines in South Africa, having been award a Platter’s Wine Guide 5-star rating 14 times, and receiving numerous other allocades, including a Double Gold medal at the 2025 Michelangelo Awards (2020 vintage), and receiving 94 points in the 2025 Tim Atkin (MW) SA Wine Report (2023 vintage). De Krans is not only known for its award-winning port-style wines, but also for its unique, high-quality red and white wines from Portuguese grape varieties, with the Tritonia Calitzdorp Blend receiving a 4.5-star rating in the 2026 Platter’s Wine Guide, as well as the Champion (Best in Class) in the Grand Cru National category (Top 100 list as well as a Platinum Award) in the 2025 National Wine Challenge. The Tritonia Verdelho 2023 has also made a name for itself with the 2023 vintage being named the Best Niche White Wine at the 2025 Investec Trophy Wine Show and the 2024 vintage receiving a 4.5-star rating in the Platter’s Wine Guide.
