It is the month of Moscato! De Krans Wines made the first Premium White Moscato Perlé in 2012 - a fruity, natural sweet white wine with a slight bubble, the perfect alternative to a bubbly, with the added bonus of a lower alcohol at 9%. The Premium Red Moscato Perlé followed in 2017, with the same base of Muscadel and Hanepoot grapes as the white but with about 15% Pinotage grapes added. The range was completed in 2021 with the Premium Rosé Moscato Perlé, with only a touch of Pinotage added to give it a slight pink blush colour. We are so excited to share our new label design with you, which launched in April. While the taste of the wines remain the same, the new label design is more modern, clean and elegant - celebrating and elevating the Premium Moscato Range even more.

In celebration of World Moscato day tomorrow, 8 May, we are giving away a polar box cooler @polarboxstyle_official to one lucky winner, together with a mixed case of our Premium Moscato range featuring our newly launched label design. To stand a chance to win, be sure to follow us on instagram and facebook, and tag your 2 moscato besties in the comments together with naming your favourite moscato: White, Red or Rosé.

We are so excited to welcome you to the farm from 15-17 June in celebration of the @calitzdorpexpressed festival. Originally known as the Port Festival, this annual Winter festival is the perfect opportunity to explore everything Calitzdorp, situated in the Klein Karoo along the Route 62, has to offer. At De Krans Wines you can look forward to enjoying a wine tasting of our wide range of award-winning wines as well as breakfast, lunch or a delicious cheese platter at the Bistro. Other weekend activities include:

15 June, Saturday
-Calitzdorp Expressed Trail Run Challenge (5km, 9km, 21km) hosted by @jakhalsevents through the De Krans vineyards with amazing prizes and lucky draws up for grabs, with a "kuiertuin" area afterwards to enjoy our wines, P&T, beer, and snacks.

15 and 16 June, Saturday and Sunday
- P&T (port-style and tonic) cocktail stand
- Cellar tour and barrel tasting (11am-1pm; 2pm-4pm) by winemaker, Christoff de Wet. Max 15 people per tour, R150 pp.

16 June, Sunday
- Live music by Guy Feldmann

Introducing our NEW Premium Moscato Perlé labels - new look, same taste! We wanted to stay true to the product's look and feel, while still creating a beautiful, modern and sophisticated design. Having made the first White Moscato in South Africa more than a decade ago in 2012, we welcomed the idea of change as it not only gave us the opportunity to be innovative and creative, but also to say a big thank you for more than 10 years of making memories with De Krans Premium Moscato.

Completing the De Krans Premium Moscato Range, is the Rosé Moscato Perlé, which was launched in 2021. With just a little bit of pinotage added to Muscadel and Hanepoot, this wine has delicious red berry and candyfloss flavours with muscat and litchi. Serve chilled in a bubbly or a wine glass and enjoy on its own or pair with a cheese or charcuterie platter, summer salad or a mild curry.

Following the success of the Premium White Moscato

Following the success of the Premium White Moscato in 2012, we launched the De Krans Premium Red Moscato Perlé in 2017. With about 15% Pinotage added to the Muscadel and Hanepoot, the wine has a lovely, vibrant red colour with delicious strawberry and red fruit flavours with exotic spice and muscat. This red wine with a fizz should be served chilled. We are so excited to be launching something new and exciting soon.

Harvest 2024 is finally done! We are so grateful for a successful harvest, despite the difficult and challenging moments. We are super excited to taste the first 2024 vintages soon, which are currently being bottled. Although the harvest ended up being smaller than anticipated, largely due to a record days of extreme heat, the quality completely makes up for it. From the vineyards to the cellar, there are many people to thank. This week we express our gratitude to everyone involved in the picking of the grapes and the transport of the grapes to the cellar. We appreciate your hard work and are grateful that you are part of the De Krans team.
