De Krans Wines has won various medals and awards since 1980 and was crowned Champion Private Wine Cellar in the Klein Karoo region numerous times. De Krans Wines is traditionally known for its award-winning port-style wines, with their flagship Cape Vintage Reserve receiving 5 stars in the Platter Wine Guide a record 14 times. De Krans Wines is also known for their innovation and produces very interesting wines from unusual grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Verdelho. In addition, De Krans Wines produces an impressive range of excellent value wines from classic grape varieties. In 2012, De Krans Wines extended their range when they first produced the now popular Premium White Moscato Perlé, followed by the Premium Red Moscato Perlé in 2017. The latest edition to this range, the Premium Rosé Moscato was just released in March 2021. The Alcohol-Free Muscat Nectar Sparkling was also released in March 2020.
De Krans is home to a range of more than 20 superb wines and your visit won’t be complete without sampling some to add to your collection. Whilst visiting be sure to stock on some of these which are available to purchase directly from the cellar. Wine tasting is offered daily Monday to Sunday (9h00 to 17h00) throughout the year. The tasting room will be closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
