We are so excited to welcome you to the farm from 15-17 June in celebration of the @calitzdorpexpressed festival. Originally known as the Port Festival, this annual Winter festival is the perfect opportunity to explore everything Calitzdorp, situated in the Klein Karoo along the Route 62, has to offer. At De Krans Wines you can look forward to enjoying a wine tasting of our wide range of award-winning wines as well as breakfast, lunch or a delicious cheese platter at the Bistro. Other weekend activities include:

15 June, Saturday
-Calitzdorp Expressed Trail Run Challenge (5km, 9km, 21km) hosted by @jakhalsevents through the De Krans vineyards with amazing prizes and lucky draws up for grabs, with a "kuiertuin" area afterwards to enjoy our wines, P&T, beer, and snacks.

15 and 16 June, Saturday and Sunday
- P&T (port-style and tonic) cocktail stand
- Cellar tour and barrel tasting (11am-1pm; 2pm-4pm) by winemaker, Christoff de Wet. Max 15 people per tour, R150 pp.

16 June, Sunday
- Live music by Guy Feldmann

Introducing our NEW Premium Moscato Perlé labels - new look, same taste! We wanted to stay true to the product's look and feel, while still creating a beautiful, modern and sophisticated design. Having made the first White Moscato in South Africa more than a decade ago in 2012, we welcomed the idea of change as it not only gave us the opportunity to be innovative and creative, but also to say a big thank you for more than 10 years of making memories with De Krans Premium Moscato.

Cheers - we see you, and we raise you another. And if you haven't tried it yet, you are in for a sweet surprise. Share it, tag us, and enjoy!

Completing the De Krans Premium Moscato Range, is the Rosé Moscato Perlé, which was launched in 2021. With just a little bit of pinotage added to Muscadel and Hanepoot, this wine has delicious red berry and candyfloss flavours with muscat and litchi. Serve chilled in a bubbly or a wine glass and enjoy on its own or pair with a cheese or charcuterie platter, summer salad or a mild curry.

Following the success of the Premium White Moscato

Following the success of the Premium White Moscato in 2012, we launched the De Krans Premium Red Moscato Perlé in 2017. With about 15% Pinotage added to the Muscadel and Hanepoot, the wine has a lovely, vibrant red colour with delicious strawberry and red fruit flavours with exotic spice and muscat. This red wine with a fizz should be served chilled. We are so excited to be launching something new and exciting soon.

Not only is there ample space as well as a play area for the kiddies, but we are also a dog friendly destination. We are also fully functional during loadshedding!

Harvest 2024 is finally done! We are so grateful for a successful harvest, despite the difficult and challenging moments. We are super excited to taste the first 2024 vintages soon, which are currently being bottled. Although the harvest ended up being smaller than anticipated, largely due to a record days of extreme heat, the quality completely makes up for it. From the vineyards to the cellar, there are many people to thank. This week we express our gratitude to everyone involved in the picking of the grapes and the transport of the grapes to the cellar. We appreciate your hard work and are grateful that you are part of the De Krans team.

As the 2024 harvest comes to an end, we have to give a shout out to our two harvest interns, Fabian Butz and Allyssa Rued, photographed with our winemaker, Christoff de Wet on the right. Fabian comes from Buchenländerhof, their family wine farm in Norheim in the Nahe in Germany, while Allyssa comes from a wine farm as well - Rued Winery in Sonoma, California in the United States. We loved having them both here and learning from them. After lots of hard work and shared fun, we bid them farewell and wish them all the best for their future as they return home in the next week.
