It was inevitable really, with our climate and our soil, that we would gravitate towards Portuguese grape varieties. It is how we came to be who we are today – one of the most awarded and respected port-style wine and Portuguese dry wine producers in South Africa. Above all, we love port-style wines. We are passionate about it, and like anything in life, if you are passionate about something, you want to share that passion, that love. You want others to experience it, and to fall in love, too. That’s

We are still daydreaming about endless, lazy summer days on the beach and pretty and delicious sundowners. Even though we may be back in office and swimming in emails instead of the cool blue waters, we can still celebrate summer in style and with some prettiness, especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner. The De Krans Pinotage Rosé is not only one of De Krans’ fastest growing wines, but also definitely one of our most delicious. The De Krans Pinotage Rosé has a beautiful light rose petal, blush pink colour with roses, candy floss and strawberries on the nose, and fine, red fruit on the palate. While packed

It is that time of the year again where you get the opportunity to pick your own fruit at De Krans Wines. Please save the following date: – Hanepoot grapes: 9 February – 27 February 2022, 08:00 - 16:00 (R9.50 per kilo) With fruit picking at De Krans being one of the most anticipated events on our calendar year, we were devastated following a recent hailstorm that caused widespread damage on De Krans and in the Calitzdorp area (the worst hailstorm since 1993). Moscato, as it is now known, has its roots in the province of Asti in Northwest Italy, where it was already cultivated and made since the 1870’s. In modern times it gained popularity in the USA by means of infiltrating their Hip Hop and Rap culture, and finally also reaching the South African shores for the first time almost 10 years ago. The De Krans Premium Moscato range is currently the market leader in the Moscato category, and it is no doubt largely thanks to its appeal to an extended target audience as well as its versatility when it comes to the drinking occasion.
